The Three Days Grace group was formed in 1997, in Norwood, Ontario, Canada, on the fragments of the Groundswell team that has existed since 1992. The group included: Adam Gontier (vocals, guitar), Brad Walst (bass) and Neil Sanderson (drums). 

Later, after moving to Toronto, the musicians, with the help of their former manager, met the producer Gavin Brown (The Midway State, Billy Talent, Cancer Bats, Thornley, The Reason, The Tea Party, Danny Michel, Out of Your Mouth, etc.), while Which participation and recorded their famous "I Hate (Everything About You)", which soon led to a contract with the publishing house "EMI" and the record label "Jive".
